What We Do When Your Car Comes In For Maintenance

Below is our list of what we do when you bring your car to Affordable Automotive. We will honestly tell you, and show you, what needs done and what may need fixing in the future. We want your car to be safe, reliable, comfortable and efficient while getting the most miles out of your vehicle at a reasonable price.

• We listen for unusual noises - squeaks, rattles, vibrations as well as noises in the engine and the exhaust.
   

• We perform and initial inspection under the hood including the battery, physical condition of the belts and hoses, and look for oil stains or leaks around the engine compartment.
   

• We raise your vehicle up on a hoist for a thorough inspection of the following:

  We inspect for leaks from the engine, power steering and transmission areas. We inspect the chassis components for lubrication points and wear. We inspect the tires for condition, wear and inflation. We look at the exhaust system including the muffler and tailpipes for rust, holes, hanger and heat shield condition. We inspect your shocks or struts for leaks and your springs for fatigue or breaks.

• Twice a year, or about every 6,000 miles, you should bring you vehicle in for brake inspection. We will check the pads, shoes, calipers, wheel cylinder, drums, rotors and brake hoses. This is also a good time for tire rotation because your tires are off.
   

• While your car is running, we check the belts and pulleys, water pump, power steering, alternator, cooling fans and air conditioner compressor.
   

• We also lube the door hinges and check other body components for safety and wear.
   

• Finally we road test your car to notice and listen for any breaking issues, vibrations and handling issues and see how straight it drives for alignment issues.
